ADDITIONAL GENERAL SECOND CLASS COACHES ATTACHED WITH POPULAR LONG DISTANCE TRAINS TO MEET THE NEED OF THE COMMON PASSENGERS
Bengal Mirror, Kolkata, December 11, 2024: Indian Railways, in response to the growing demand from the common masses, has decided to operate every popular Mail/Express train with a minimum of four General Second Class coaches throughout the year, aiming to boost unreserved passenger travel and provide greater accessibility and convenience for economically weaker sections of society.
In this financial year all over Indian Railways 385 pairs of trains running with 635 rakes have been augmented by utilizing 957 Second Class coaches (LWS).
As part of this initiative, Eastern Railway has also augmented additional General Second Class coaches in 16 popular Mail/Express trains in last three months, ensuring these trains now run with at least four such coaches, enhancing affordability and comfort for unreserved passengers across the region.
Additional General Second Class Coaches have been attached with following sixteen (16) Mail/Express trains of Eastern Railway
• 12323/12324 Howrah – Barmer – Howrah weekly Express.
• 12353/12354 Howrah – Lalkuan – Howrah Weekly Superfast.
• 13025/13026 Howrah – Bhopal – Howrah Express.
• 13021/13022 Howrah – Raxaul – Howrah Mithila Express.
• 13071/13072 Howrah – Jamalpur – Howrah Express.
• 12331/12332 Howrah – Jammu Tawi – Howrah Himgiri Express.
• 12371/12372 Howrah – Bikaner – Howrah Weekly Express.
• 13009/13010 Howrah – Yog Nagari Rishikesh – Howrah Doon Express.
• 12307/12308 Howrah – Jodhpur – Howrah Express.
• 22307/22308 Howrah – Bikaner – Howrah Express.
• 12367/12368 Bhagalpur – Anand Vihar – Bhagalpur Express.
• 13425/13426 Malda Town – Surat – Malda Town Express.
