LAUNCHING OF INTERNATIONAL CENTRE FOR AGROECOLOGY, NEW JERSEY, USA
( Bengal Mirror, 12th November 2021 ) : Dayalbagh Radhasoami Satsang Association of North America (DRSANA), Columbia, Maryland, USA intends launching the International Centre for Agroecology (ICA) at Old Bridge, Pension Road, New Jersey, USA during February/ March 2022.
The ICA would emerge as an International Centre for conducting Research and Development in the vast field of Agroecology. The ICA would host research scholars and scientists, practitioners and community leaders, thought leaders and administrators, and multinational and international organizations of repute from across the globe towards evolving prescriptions/norms for the contemporary and futuristic global challenges of inequitable food availability, resource-intensive agricultural systems, massive deforestation, water scarcities, biodiversity loss, soil depletion, to name a few.
Radhasoami Satsang Sabha, Dayalbagh, Agra, co sponsor of the project hosted a Curtain-raiser programme on 11th November, 2021. A conference was held on the occasion and the theme was various facets of Agroecology in the context of the Global Economy.
The conference focussed on evolving implementable recommendations for promoting employment, output and income for development of the rural sector in particular and nation as a whole. These are the thrust areas of Governments across the Globe. Themes of the conference are in line with contemporary international policies.
The cardinal objectives of the Radhasoami Satsang are community working, selfless SEWA, SIMPLE LIVING and High Thinking. The members of the Satsang at Dayalbagh, Agra work on the farms, in the cottage industries and other multifarious productive activities. In the field of education, Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI), a Deemed University, is promoting higher education. All the agricultural output of the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha is shared among members at a subsidised cost.
