Dr. R.K. Banerjee, a senior Gynecologist from Asansol, passes away
Bengal Mirror, Asansol, Souradeepto Sengupta: Dr. R.K.(Radhakrishna) Banerjee, a senior physician and renowned gynecologist from Asansol city and the industrial area, has passed away. He breathed his last on Saturday morning at the New Eveland Nursing Home located near the railway bridge on Senraleigh Road or Vivekananda Sarani in Asansol.The distinguished senior physician had established the nursing home in 1991. Operating for over three decades, this nursing home is one of the leading medical institutions in Asansol city and the surrounding industrial area.














The doctor was 77 years old at the time of his death.Dr. Banerjee was born in 26th November,1948 at Bangai gram near Kamarpukur under Hooghly district in West Bengal. He completed his M.B.B.S from Bankura Sammilani Medical College & Hospital.Later he did D.G.O from Chittaranjan Sevasadan at Kolkata.He was a gynecologist at the then Asansol Sub divisional Hospital (At present Asansol District Hospital) and retired from there in the year 2008. He established The New Eveland Nursing Home in the year 1991 and was a practicing physician there till his last days.He had been suffering from various age-related health problems for some time and had been admitted to several private hospitals for treatment.
His last rites were performed on Saturday at the electric crematorium near Kalla More in Asansol.Dr.Banerjee left his elder son Dr.Indraneel Banerjee, a renowned Endodontist as well as dental surgeon and his junior son Dr.Indradip Banerjee , a renowned gynecologist of Asansol and their families including daughter in laws Mrs. Paromita Banerjee and Mrs. Angana Ghosal, grandchildrens Anushka & Arush.Both his son sons expressed their grief and said it’s a huge loss not only to them even so many patients and common people as humanitarian person was so close to common men and women.They will carry the legacy of their father.Several doctors including Indian Medical Association ( Asansol branch) expressed their grief for the sad demise and paid their last respect to his mortal remains..His death has cast a shadow of grief over the medical community in the industrial belt.
